A Message from Dan Spencer - Democratic Nominee for Mayor

(Pictured left to right: Councilman Bowie Johnson, Council Candidate George Berglund, Councilwoman Nancy Randolph Baus, and Councilman Dan Spencer)

I would like to thank everyone who came out to vote in the Primary Election in Gloucester City and supported me for Mayor with their vote. Although I have no challenger running against me in the November 6th General Election, I will work hard and campaign as if someone is running against me in order to gain your trust and vote of confidence.

Thank you again and I will continue working hard for a positive Gloucester City

Gloucester City First Ward Councilman, Dan Spencer, has filed a ballot petition to become a candidate for Mayor in this year's Democratic Primary Election. Councilman Spencer received the unanimous support of the Gloucester City Democratic Party's Executive Committee and the endorsement of the Gloucester City Democrat Club to represent the Party as our Mayoral candidate.

In a Facebook post from earlier today, Councilman Spencer stated "I am very honored and humbled to be chosen as the Mayor candidate by the Gloucester City Democrat Executive Committee. I am grateful for the unanimous support of my colleagues on City Council and our County Committee people. I am happy to say I just made it official and filed my petition. Looking forward to working hard on your behalf."

Councilman Spencer has served the people of Gloucester City as a member of City Council since 2009. He is the current Chairman of the Finance Committee and is a member of the Housing and Licensing committees. Before retiring in 2016, Dan served the people of Camden County as Deputy Director of the Camden County Department of Health and Human Services, where he worked for 26 years. Dan currently serves as the Parish Secretary for St. Mary's Catholic Parish.

Good luck, Dan!

Wil Levins: Guidance for my children - Life Is About Perspective

On this Inauguration weekend, I think back to the many conversations I have had with my children about our American society and democracy. My daughters have asked me numerous questions about the political journey our country has travelled during this past year and, in considering their questions, I have had to engage my mind as well as my heart. In my responses, I have endeavored to see the world through their eyes and explain my insights by visualizing the realities of people I have never been and through experiences I have never lived.
